Concept & Visual Development
College Projects
Mood and Lighting
Students were to fully conceptualize and illustrate a setting, which would be used to stage different scenarios for the purpose of studying impacts of color and lighting on mood.
These illustrations were also animated and put to sound, allowing the still prints hung on college campus to be scanned and the subsequent video played on a phone screen through the use of AR technology.
Completed spring 2018.

Seven Deadly Sins Flora
Students were expected to create either one illustration or several illustrations depicting the concept of the seven deadly sins. The concept in question was chosen by the student.
I chose to illustrate plants that each corresponded to one of the seven sins in design. My goal was to think about the plants in the context of assets for different areas of a video game perhaps based on the sins.
Completed fall 2020.

Fishing Hut Upgrade Series
Students were expected to create a three-part series of illustrations based on a concept of their choice. I designed a trio of assets for a fictional mobile game in which buildings could be upgraded two times from their original size. This is a sample of that concept, based on a fishing shack.
Completed fall 2020.

Lux-Nova
Over the course of a semester, students were expected to create and implement assets into Unity in order to learn the game creation pipeline process and build a game based off of or inspired by a historical artistic period.
Lux-Nova, Latin for "New Light", is an art nouveau inspired vertical platformer taking place within the stained glass window of a cathedral. Play as Luxe, a young church mouse, solving puzzles and collecting the three gemstones that will lead to your escape.
Disclaimer: The gameplay video below was recorded back on my old laptop with only 4gb of memory that barely ran Unity so... sorry it's kind of choppy!!
Completed fall 2020.
