Alcreamy was my senior illustration thesis project from my final year at CCAD. My goal when concepting Alcreamy was to bring the experience of turn-based combat RPGs to a much wider and more casual audience who may normally be deterred by the aesthetics or overcomplicated feel of other popular titles of the genre.
So what exactly IS Alcreamy?
A turn-based combat RPG utilizing the art of alchemy to prevent the destruction of the world at the hands (or jaws) of hungry space monsters.
Just one tiny detail: your entire arsenal is food!
Join apprentice alchemist Claire to mix and match different baked treats and transmute powerful dishes! Harness the effects of their respective flavors to render your opponents positively stuffed! Save the land of Amaretti Pelago from an unsavory fate, before ravenous monsters gobble up all in sight!

Claire the Cat

Our protagonist!
Claire the cat is an apprentice alchemist studying underneath her Grandmother’s wing. She is destined to inherit the family business and take over the bakery one day. But with a new challenge on the horizon, much more perilous than operating Granny's old antique cash register, will Claire be able to rise to the challenge and save the citizens of Amaretti Pelago from total digestion?


Granny Brioche
Caring • Wise • Patient • Sassy • Quick-witted
Claire’s grandmother and mentor, training her in the art of baking with alchemy.
Granny Brioche is known all across Amaretti Pelago for her skill as both an alchemist and a baker. She lives together with Claire in a cottage, selling their baked goods and mentoring her in preparation for her eventual takeover of the family business. Despite her gentle, kind nature, Granny Brioche can be quite intimidating when the situation calls for it.


The Monsters from Outer Space
Hungry • SO hungry • Like all the time • Wow
Extremely dangerous creatures! Avoid at all costs.
A being made entirely of bone and dark gelatinous goop with the ability to digest anything it comes into contact with. Complete with a bony maw and bottomless stomach, this beast will stop at nothing to sate its uncontrollable hunger. Anything (or anyone) it can find will do as its next meal.

Flavor Zone Concepts
While travelling across the overworld map of Amaretti Pelago, you'd encounter five different zones, each with a respective flavor theme that you could utilize in your alchemy as it was added to your cookbook.
Color-coded dots indicate the flavor(s) of the foods you could create and transmute in these zones. Different flavors also harbor different status effects in battle.





Alcreamy Transmutation Guide
In order to create foods with a higher fullness score, you need to combine two different foods through the power of alchemy. This can be done via your cookbook, and as you can see, you have a variety of combos at your disposal!
